Everyone was wondering why writer Vijayendra Prasad was not featured in RRR's promotional materials. Finally, he attended the promotions and mingled with the press.
When asked how RRR came to be, Rajamouli's father, K.V.
Vijayendra Prasad, claims Rajamouli intended to film a multi-starrer at first.
Then they began working on the project without assigning any
names and began writing the script. After a few days, famous pairings like
Rajinikanth-Arjun, Suriya-Karthi, and a few others were considered.
However, Ram Charan and NTR were invited into the film
because they wanted two protagonists who have a natural camaraderie and can
sail with each other for two years, according to Vijayendra Prasad.
In compared to Ram Charan and NTR, RRR would not have been a
thrilling undertaking if Rajamouli had enlisted any of the above pairings.
In a project like RRR, the younger and fitter stars make a
tremendous impact. The inclusion of NTR and Ram Charan in the film has given it
a great boost.
Rajamouli's star power will draw large crowds, while the
names of Charan and NTR are icing on the cake for RRR.
