Virat Kohli commented on Faf du Plessis' appointment as the new Royal Challengers Bangalore captain.
Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Royal Challengers
Bangalore (RCB), was pleased to learn about Faf du Plessis' appointment as his
replacement ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season. The
Bengaluru-based club posted a video featuring Kohli shortly after announcing du
Plessis as their new skipper on Saturday. Kohli expressed his thoughts on du
Plessis' appointment as the new RCB skipper in the video. "Like you know,
we'll be starting our season soon, which I'm extremely happy about; as I mentioned,
newfound energy — I'm really looking forward to this season."First and
foremost, Faf is going to be the captain of RCB, and I couldn't be happier to
give the baton to a good friend, someone I have known well over the
years," Kohli said in the video.
"The connection with Faf will be exciting for RCB fans, as will Maxi (Glenn Maxwell) and the core group that we kept, as well as the squad that we put together this year, which I think is quite great," he continued.
"The team appears to be well-balanced and capable, and
I'm excited to get started and catch up with Faf and the rest of the boys. I'm
really looking forward to this season." "I'm really excited, and as I
said, I've got a lot of new energy, and it's going to be a wonderful season to
be a part of," Kohli said.
