Vijay's 'greatest and most notorious' super spy will save a mall from terrorists in style in the Beast teaser. Watch

 In the teaser for his forthcoming action film, Thalapathy Vijay activates his Beast mode. He plays a spy in the film. 

Vijay's Beast has released its first trailer. It shows the popular actor as a super spy who enjoys causing havoc. Pooja Hegde also appears in the film, which is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. On April 13th, it will be released. 

The clip begins with a group of terrorists invading a shopping mall. The terrorists, dressed in Money Heist-inspired clothing and Breaking Bad-inspired masks, rain bullets down on the mall and hold its people hostage. As intelligence officers consider the best course of action, they notice a ray of hope: a superspy was accidentally present at the mall. 

We see a tour of Veera Raghavan's triumphs on the battlefield someplace in the Middle East, then shots of him in a fighter plane, flinging bombs at his foes, frying them with weapons, and even chopping up some terrorists at the mall as an introduction to Vijay's spy. Pooja Hegde appears as one of the mall hostages in a minor role.

The trailer was well received by viewers. "It's going to be the year's most successful film." "It will undoubtedly smash all records and set new trends," a fan predicted. "Trailer is totally on (fire)," said another user on YouTube. "Mark my words, this will be a super hit like KGF...and we should never compare the two, each film has its own style, and instead we should support each film equally," read another comment.

According to rumours, Vijay has set a budget of Rs. 100 crore for the project. He was most recently seen in Master, a film directed by Xavier Britto and starring Malavika Mohanan, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, and Andrea Jeremiah. It was Vijay's first time working with filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj. Pooja Hegde was last seen in Radhe Shyam opposite Prabhas. Despite its large budget, the picture underperformed at the box office.
