Sarika, Kamal's ex-wife, admits to having no money and working for two thousand rupees.

After several years of living together, Kamal Haasan, one of India's top superstars, married actress Sarika from 1998 until 2004. Shruti and Akshara Haasan, the couple's daughters, are also successful actresses in their own right.

 

After her divorce, Sarika relocated to Mumbai and began acting in films and plays, although she recently took a sabbatical. In a recent interview, she said "If you think about it, I just thought I was squandering my life. You wake up every morning, nothing happens, and you fall asleep. So I simply decided to take a year off and do nothing. Go do something completely different. That was so fantastic that it turned into a five-year project. So I was content doing everything."

 

"Lockdown happened, and the money ran out, so where do you go?" the 61-year-old actress continued. You return to acting since in theatre, you only get around 2000-2700 dollars and can't accomplish anything, which is why I wasn't there at all. It was a pretty deliberate decision, but I expected it to last a year, but it turned out to be five. "Those five years were fantastic."

 

Sarika Thakur is now starring in the segment "My Beautiful Wrinkles" in an upcoming Amazon Prime Video series directed by Alankrita Shrivastava. She portrays a 60-year-old woman who must deal with a young man's love advances. The series will begin streaming on May 13th.
