After his debut film, 'Raja Rani,' Atlee went on to do three
more films with Thalapathy Vijay, namely 'Theri,' 'Mersal,' and 'Bigil,' in
which he played eight different characters, all of whom were fan favourites.
Now, Atlee is rumoured to be reuniting with Vijay for
'Thalapathy 68,' and he has pretty well confirmed what the film will be about.
On Tuesday, Amazon Prime Video India asked a question on Twitter, coupled with
a clip of Vijay's famed "Bigillllluuuuu "Imagine an entire film made
solely for the story of Rayappan," the admin added.
Thalapathy fans are ecstatic by Atlee's rapid response,
"Senjittaa pochuuu There's a lot of anticipation in the air because it's
well known that Atlee is a huge Vijay admirer. If this is taken as a
suggestion, 'Thalapathy 68' could well be the precursor to 'Bigil,' depicting
Rayappan's ascension to become the uncontested don of North Chennai. Let's wait
and see how this one develops.
'Aflee' is currently directing Bollywood's Badshah Shah Rukh
Khan in 'Lion,' which features Nayanthara and Priyamani as the starring females
and features music by A.R. Rahman. Vijay, on the other hand, has wrapped a big
schedule for Vamshi Paidipally's 'Thalapathy 66,' which features Rashmika
Mandanna, Prabhu, Jayasudha, Sarathkumar, Srikanth, Shaam, Prakash Raj,
Samyuktha, Sangeetha, and Yogi Babu in an ensemble cast.
By the end of the year, Vijay is expected to start filming
for Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Thalapathy 67.' 'Thalapathy 68/Rayappan,' directed by
Atlee, is expected to hit theatres in mid-2023.
