Vidyasagar, Meena's husband, passes away.

Vidyasagar, the actor Meena's husband, passed away on Monday in a Chennai private hospital. He was said to have a severe lung infection and to have been receiving treatment for it for the past few months.In 2009, Meena wed Vidyasagar, a Bengaluru-based businessman. Nainika, their daughter, was also born. Meena began her film career as a child actor and later rose to prominence as one of the leading ladies in demand for leading roles in the 1990s and the late 2000s. She has shared the screen with every south Indian film superstar.

 

Later, she began portraying characters who were older than she was, but she still held the role of the leading man. She recently experienced success with Malayalam projects like Drishyam 1 and 2. She last appeared in the Telugu movie Son of India.Daughter Nainika made her screen debut as a child actor, following in Meena's footsteps. In the popular film Theri, she portrayed Vijay's daughter.

 

Fans of Meena and members of the film community are sending condolences in droves. "Our family's heartfelt condolences to Meena and the near and dear of her family, may his soul rest in peace," tweeted Sarathkumar, who has acted alongside Meena in many films. "It is shocking to hear the news of the untimely demise of Actor Meena's husband Vidyasagar."
