With his latest film, 'Vikram,' directed by Lokesh
Kanagaraj, Kamal Haasan, one of Tamil cinema's greatest actors, has made a
strong comeback. The 67-year-old legend is attracting crowds in theatres like
bees to honey, with audiences of all ages celebrating the film.
With his memorable scenes shot there, Kamal is known for
creating landmarks in his films. For example, in the film 'Punnagai Mannan,'
the rock from which he and Rekha will jump to commit suicide is still known in
Hogenakkal as the movie's name. Similarly, the Guna cave in Kodaikanal is where
Kamal, as 'Guna,' will keep and tend his lady love Abhirami.
Similarly, in 'Vikram,' Kamal's hero will save his teammate
Narain from an underground tunnel amidst gunfire. They will then flee through
an exit located inside the Vettri movie theatre. Fans of the film have flocked
to a popular theatre in Chennai's Chrompet neighbourhood.
The management has placed a poster near the tunnel lid,
pointing to the location where they escaped. Fans who come to see 'Vikram' form
a line to take selfies of the location, which has now become a landmark,
similar to the Guna cave.
